Meet Brendan: The Culinary Dietitian

Hi, I’m Brendan, your Culinary Dietitian. My culinary journey began as a child, perched on a stool, wearing an oversized apron and swimming goggles, helping my mum peel onions for dinner. Fast forward to the year 2000, and I was a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed first-year chef apprentice. Over the years, I honed my skills both internationally and domestically. The arrival of our first child sparked my interest in the nutritional side of food. I could cook delicious, efficient, and sustainable meals, but I wanted to understand what the food actually did for our bodies.

This curiosity led me to pursue a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Wollongong. Combining this qualification with over 20 years of experience as a professional chef, I now blend culinary artistry with nutritional science to promote lifelong health and wellness from my base in the picturesque Shoalhaven region of NSW.

As an Accredited Practicing Dietitian through Dietitians Australia, I empower individuals with practical culinary skills and nutritional expertise. My experience spans paediatrics, health promotion, chronic disease management, and culinary education. I lead cooking classes, skills workshops, and develop tailored menu plans and recipe modifications to meet specific dietary needs.

Bringing a practical, hands-on approach, The Culinary Dietitian is committed to helping individuals and organisations make informed food choices and achieve their health and wellness goals.
